Poor Cossack...back to the vet tomorrow for an injection and some more pills.
DH had a good chat to the vet today. She and one of her colleagues (who has also looked after Cossack over the years) had a chat, and have recommended chemical castration since physically doing it isn't an option right now. They said lowering his testosterone levels should shrink his prostate and hopefully help in that respect.
He's also having another antibiotic added to his meds. Cultures from his urine sample have responded to the one he's already on, but they think an additional one might help to speed his recovery. Sounds good to us!
So the 'injection' he gets tomorrow is basically a slow-release implant. He'll need a new one every 6 months.
