Well i've acquired a bunny, not sure for how long (posted in General Gossip about that).
Anyway - what do i feed him? i've given him hay, carrots and apples.
Is he warm enough with just hay? Or do i need to do something else?

Our bunny just sleeps on straw, the back part of his cage is wind proof, he eats grass mainly, but as a treat I give him apples, carrots, and celery, their main diet should be grass though, the kids love going for walks to collect nice long thick grass, he has a bowl of water. He also has a special feed from the pet shop, this helps keep their teeth short, as they just keep growing! His cage is mobile, so we move it every other day.
Hope this helps :)

same with our guinea pig really - you can get these chew blocks from pet stores that help with the teeth - and we just feed rabbit pallet mix too

in saying that - our guinea pig is allergic to hay and straw so he sleeps on wood shavings... LOL so he don't eat that only the grass

Does he need a roof, or not really?

Yes, to shelter from the rain and not jump out. We have a hutch that has a rain proof roof at one end (this is the end he sleeps in and has his straw in) and the other 3/4 is just a chicken wire roof.

The hutch i've borrowed just has chicken wire on the top, so i've covered 1/2 of it with wood, i just wasn't sure if they actually needed shelter or if they are ok with just straw if no roof.

Yip they need a part with a roof and sides and wooden floor, so they dont get their bunny paws wet and cold in winter.

MMm the stuff i read said no wooden floors due to the urine on the floor burns their paws. Have you had an issue with that?

No issues here, only his covered straw part has a wooden floor and he doest pee/poo in his bed area, the other 3/4 of his house has chicken wire roof walls and floor (he is a very good lawn mower)

He's doing just great :) Kids love him.
Have a new cage for him (well new to him but second hand), which has a nice warm bit, and wire floor, and move him around every day so he has fresh grass. We pick him grass, he has carrots and pellets. He's a happy bunny :)

Has Stewie got a rain coat and gumboots? He will need them in the weather of late! And a nice thick woollen jumper and matching hat with one of those pom pom things!LOL
