ok, so i was looking online at our local animal shelter pictures and information and the animal shelters number one long term goal is to be a no-kill shelter which i strongly support, and to do that they need people willing to foster the animals until there is a permanent home found. and the shelter provides everything, food, a kennel, vet checks absolutely everything, and they are all fixed and up to date on their shots. by the way i currently share my residence with 3 dogs and 2 cats, i say share my residence as i dont see them as my belongings but part of my family and with three dogs you gotta share lol. they stay outside all day in good weather and i have them kennel trained. dh thinks i am crazy to bring in more animals, more dogs, but i want to help these animals to have healthy homes, and we have 30 acres of property for them to run around and play on so there is tons of room. and we have room in our house for a couple more kennels. its a pretty good sized house. so what do you think am i insane. i was thinking of building a good size outside enclosure so that when i have company coming we can put the dogs in their enclosure so they arent a bother to the visitors. and let em out after they leave. my dogs are very friendly with other dogs to so it wont be to much of an issue socializing them.

sounds like a good thing to do to me - but you and your hubby will have to agree - maybe trial it for a few months first with a couple of extras and see how that goes then discuss again at a later date.
do you have the time to care for the extra animals that you will have at home? your dogs may play well with others but the ones you get into your care may not be?!
as for building areas for them i personally wouldn't just yet. wait and see how it all works out it might not suit...
good luck and lets know what you do :)

Maybe just take it slowly, add one more and wait a month or something and see how you go. You don't want to go overboard and not cope, you know?

I would agree with the others, though if you can build something cheap and easy then it may be better than having strange dogs in your house all the time as well as letting you segregate any troublesome animals.

yeah, we have been thinking about the dog enclosure for our three dogs for awhile. just haven't gotten to it yet. i do only want to take one dog extra for now, i am currently a stay at home mom and my youngest just started kindy so i do have the extra time for the extra animal. and i am going to do try it ou frst, like ya'll suggest, thank you! thats a good idea. dh is for it, if i am for it, which is good. but if it becomes a problem or overwhelming then i will not do it anymore. thanks for your suggestions they are appreciated.
