i finally convinced dh to let me get chickens. so i will be fostering homeless dogs, but i will have chickens to!!! we already have a chicken coop here it just need to be fixed a bit, i am gonna start that tomorow, and need to put up some chicken wire. i want the chickens for the eggs and becuase every farm needs some chickens. and we have a farm. we have horses, and now i want chickens. plus i can sell the eggs to. we are going to get between 10-20 which is a good amount for the space we have without being overwhelmed with the chickens. they will be free range but in the coop at night to stay safe. i have been doing a bunch of research. and getting started with chickens isnt very costly either. we have alot of the building materials kicking around the yard and barns. i hope to have some chickens relatively soon. im goofy excited over the idea of having them.

yeah, i can't wait to get em lol. i am excited for the farm fresh eggs to. they are supposed to be better for you becuase the chickens aren't fed a bunch of crap and they aren't forced to lay eggs all year around, you can force it but i am not going to do that, they only lay a few eggs a week through the winter for a reason. so i will just let nature take precedence and not screw with it. and i am getting natural feed for them. so no nasty stuff in the feed.

Yeah that would be so cool.We've got chicken coops here to but on chickens.Would love to get some though.Good luck with them.
